Heartfelt Creations

Today on the Heartfelt Creations blog are two more of my projects that I submitted for the Finalist round of the Design Team.

The first projects is a gift card holder that is made out of an A2 envelop.  I learned how to make this from Dionne who teaches Copics Club classes at the scrapbook store More Memories in New Paris, IN, my hometown.

Supplies:
  • Stamps:  Heartfelt Creations Scenic Combo (HCPC 3355), Hydrangea/Posy Branch Set (HCPC 3301)
  • Spellbinders:    Classic Ovals, Labels 10
  • Paper:    A2 Envelop, Cryogen White, Bazzill, K&Co
  • Ink: Ranger Distress Ink – Black Soot, Walnut Stain & Old Paper
  • Copics:  G21, G28, W00, W1, W3, W5, W7, YG61, YG63, YG67, YG91, YG95, YG97, YG99,  E23, E27, E29, E53, E57, E59, B91, B93, B95, BG000, Colorless Blender
  • Embellishments:     Ribbon, Twine, Brad
Instructions:

To make gift card holder take an A2 envelope and score the envelop in half and cut the flap in half.  Glue down the left side.  The right side is the pocket for the gift card.  Distress edges (including center) with Ranger Distress Ink – Old Paper.  Add score tape across the front of the envelope and attach a piece of ribbon to close the gift card holder.  Cut 3 pieces of paper 4” x 2 ¾” (test cut one piece and check size).  Use patterned paper or matte several layers of paper as desired.  Cut to size the panel that will go on the gift card pouch and then punch a half circle on that panel.  This will make it easier to remove the gift card.  Make a flap to fit, tapering the edges and attach to envelop flap.  Attach all panels and add brad to flap.  Make hole in gift card panel and pull a piece of twine through the hole, knotting it inside the pouch.  On Cryogen White paper stamp the mountain scene. Color with Copics and then cut out scene into a 4” x 2 ½” rectangle.  With distressing tool, distress edges and then with Ranger Distress Ink – Old Paper, distress edges with ink.  Attach colored mountain scene to front of gift card holder with double sided foam tape.  On Cryogen White paper stamp sentiment from Hydrangea/Posy Branch set on oval cut out from Spellbinders and distress edges with Ranger Distress Ink – Old Paper.  Out of Brown paper cut coordinating Spellbinder Label 10.  Attach to inside of card holder.  Insert gift card or money and use outside ribbon to tie card closed.

My second project I am sharing today is a pop up card that folds flat for mailing.  The picture really doesn't do this card justice.  It is much more stunning in real life - I wish everyone could see it in person!  I even added clear cardstock in between the window frames to make it look like there is glass in the window.

Score on 1”, 2 ¾” , 3 ¾”, 7 ¼” , 8 ¼” and 10” lines.  Apply Scor-Tape to the end 1” sections of your cardbase and cover both long edges on each edge with Scor-Tape.  Cut out 2 Decorative Window Scenes with Spellbinder template.  Hand cut a piece of clear cardstock to fit between the 2 window pieces to resemble a window with glass.  Use glue dots to adhere window piece, clear cardstock and then window piece.  Next attach base of window into your cardbase with the Score-Tape and press to close window piece between both flaps.  On Cryogen White paper with Ranger Distress Ink – Black Soot stamp candle image.  Color with Copics and then carefully cut out image.  Add Frosted Lace Stickles to the wax area of the candle and Yellow Stickles to the center of the Poinsettia.  Next on Cryogen White paper stamp Merry Christmas using Color Box black ink and then sprinkle on clear embossing powder.  Heat set.  Cut out sentiment and distress edges with Ranger Distress Ink – Old Paper.  Attach to 3 ¼” x 1 ½” Echo Park Season’s Greetings cardstock.  Attach to base using double sided foam tape.  Attach candle using 3 layers of double sided foam tape to window at the place where the poinsettia’s are on the base of the candle.  Add ribbon and bow around front of card base.  The card will fold flat for mailing.

  1. What great projects candy. I was getting a little homesick while looking at the mountain card. It's beautiful in New England where I am from in the the fall-now that I live in Georgia-we have no fall...lol The coloring you did is gorgeous. Your pop up card is just darling. I love how you used the window die for the background of the candle. So super cute.
